I hope you have been finding a way to stay cool and are enjoying your summer. I’ve had a great August, first being joined by 70 riders and nearly 200 donors and volunteers for the Third Annual Kennan Garvey Memorial Ride, raising nearly $16,000 for Phoenix Bikes. Then, I enjoyed a family reunion with my children, grandchildren, and some extended family, and I’m looking forward to connecting with many friends and neighbors at this weekend’s Arlington County Fair.
As we shift gears from this spring’s primary to November’s election, our entire ticket is stronger together. I look forward to joining with my former opponent, Erik Gutshall, to celebrate our Democratic unity this coming Monday, August 22nd at the home of my colleague Jay Fisette and his husband Bob Rosen, 311 N Jackson Street in Ashton Heights. This event will run from 7:00-8:00 pm, and I hope you can join us.
Looking ahead, I am working hard with all of my fellow Democratic candidates to get out every vote in Arlington, and we need your help! To support our efforts, I invite you to join me in purchasing a Gold Card ticket to three fun events this autumn: the annual Labor Day chili cook-off, a toast to Peg Hogan in late September, and the Arlington Democratic Golden Gala in mid October.
