The weather has finally (maybe?) started to break from the summer heat and the fall campaign is in full swing. After starting off the month with my Democratic ticket-mates at our chili cook-off and participating in the Civic Federation candidates’ forum, I am looking forward to a fun weekend of community activities throughout our county.
We are also now just one month away from Virginia’s voter registration deadline — October 17th is the last day that we can register to vote in November’s election. Do you have friends or family who aren’t registered, just turned 18, are new to Virginia, or have recently moved? Have you moved, and haven’t updated your voter registration yet?
It is possible to register to vote/update your registration online by going to http://elections.virginia.gov/registration/index.html. We can also register in person at our County Registrar’s office, 2100 Clarendon Boulevard, 3rd floor. Please pass this information along to anyone who you know who may need it; every vote counts in November!
There are also multiple events every day throughout Arlington helping our neighbors to register to vote. Please let me know if you would like to participate, and I will be happy to connect you with the organizers. Thank you for all of your support and your participation in our great community.
