Tuesday is primary day in Virginia

June 8, 2017 By admin

This Tuesday is primary day in Virginia. I want to share information about how you can vote either in-person absentee or on Tuesday. I hope you will join me in voting for Ralph Northam for Governor and Susan Platt for Lt. Governor.

You can vote in-person absentee at 2100 Clarendon Blvd, 3rd floor: today, Thursday, June 8th until 5 pm, tomorrow, Friday, June 9th from 8 am to 5 pm, or Saturday, June 10th from 8:30 am to 5 pm.

You can vote on primary day, this coming Tuesday, June 13th from 6 am to 7 pm at your regular polling place. You can find your polling place on the Arlington County website; please note that several polling locations have changed since November.

I firmly believe Ralph Northam will be our strongest candidate in the crucial November election and that he would be the best Governor. Ralph has deep ties throughout Virginia, and is liked and respected across party lines throughout the Commonwealth. His long experience and his ability to understand and work with all kinds of people, and to stay focused on what Virginia needs, will serve us well.

I have known Susan Platt for years. She has long worked for Democrats, on the Federal level as chief of staff for Senator Joe Biden and statewide as campaign manager for Senator Chuck Robb. Susan has a wisdom that only years of professional and personal experience can provide, and she is ready to put that experience to work for Virginia. She, too, is well known and well liked across the Commonwealth. I believe she, too, would be our strongest candidate in November and be an excellent Lt. Governor.

Finally, thank you for the good wishes and support I have received from many of you. I continue to heal from my knee replacement surgery and have begun going into the office for short meetings. However, it will be some time before I am fully recovered and I am glad I was able to vote in-person absentee earlier in May.

Welcome TO My Website

Though, I am on the ballot for re-election to the County Board on November 3rd and I very much want your vote,  I am temporarily suspending campaigning due to the rapidly changing situation with COVID-19.  I am now focusing on ensuring our resiliency as a community so we can get through this health and economic crisis and prepare to recover as quickly as possible. Please see my “COVID-19 Resources” and “News” pages for information on this evolving crisis and how you can help.

Why I Support Libby: Dave Leichtman

“Libby is a Democrat. Let’s go ahead and get that out of the way to start. Heck, Libby is the one who first recruited me to get involved with Arlington Dems, as she has with countless Young Dems.
